An important visit to the Tanta factory by the Managing Director of the Holding Company for Chemical Industries

Saad Helal, CEO and Managing Director of the Holding Company for Chemical Industries, revealed that one of the most prominent projects that has witnessed development is the Segwart Company’s project to manufacture railway and metro sleepers, and high-speed train sleepers carrying guard rails.

Saad Helal added in exclusive statements to “Al-Youm Al-Sabaa” that the successful completion of the first production contract for 500,000 sleepers for the high-speed train, according to the specified schedule, contributed to the high level of confidence from the project owner (NAT). This confidence led to awarding the contract for the production of 200,000 sleepers for the RF 260 high-speed train (model RFI-260) carrying guard rails, with a contract value of approximately 740 million Egyptian pounds, including the cost of design and mold manufacturing. He noted that these sleepers were previously imported. Therefore, the National Authority for Tunnels requested that the company “Segwart” undertake the design and manufacturing of the sleepers for the RF 260 high-speed train carrying guard rails. The final sleeper design was approved by the project consultant, Systra, and a letter of credit was opened to import the production molds.

He explained that among the implemented projects is the project to upgrade the conveyor belt factory of the Narubin Company. This project aims to increase the efficiency of the conveyor belt factory in Shubra to raise its production capacity from 500 tons/year to 1000 tons/year. He revealed that the cost… The project’s investment is approximately EGP 62.5 million, funded by the Holding Company for Chemical Industries. It is expected to be completed in July 2026.

The Chairman of the Holding Company for Chemical Industries added that among the important projects is the replacement, renovation, and capacity increase of the aluminum foil line at the Muharram Printing Company. This project aims to replace, renovate, and increase the production capacity of the aluminum foil lining line. He explained that the project’s investment cost is approximately €1.5 million, funded by the Holding Company for Chemical Industries, and is expected to be completed in March 2026. Another project is the filter system for the alloy plant at Sinai Manganese Company in Abu Zenima.
